About James

Dr. James Golden has a Bachelor of Science degree in Religious Studies from Oregon State University and has been a Religious Science minister for over twenty years. Prior to his studies at Oregon State James served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years including a year in Tehran, Iran where he was a U.S. Embassy security guard.

James’s spiritual studies began with Religious Science in 1975. He has studied and spent time with such teachers as Swami Chidvilasananda, Thich Nhat Han and was a personal apprentice to Don Miguel Ruiz. Dr. James was the pastor of the Redding Church of Religious Science (now CSL Redding) from 1981 to 2003. During this time Dr. James served on the RSI Board of Directors for ten years, he served two terms as President of Religious Science International, and held the position of Youth Director, Director of Placement, Chairperson of the Ethics Committee and served on the Budget Committee as well as the Bylaws & Policy Committee. In 1999 he was awarded a Doctorate of Divinity by Religious Science International and in 2000 he was awarded the first presentation of its most prestigious honor, the Ernest Holmes Legacy Award.

James has served his community as a Chaplain for the Redding Police Department and Redding Medical Center. He has also served as a Volunteer Fire Fighter/Emergency Medical Technician for Shasta County Fire and has worked as an EMT on a 911 Ambulance in the Redding area. More recently, James managed the Community Service Program for the Shasta County Probation Department, worked for Shasta County Mental Health and spent the summer of 2017 working for the U.S. Forest Service running the Visitors Center in Old Station, CA. In October of 2017 James accepted a position as a Park Ranger with the National Park Service and is currently serving at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area.

About Leslie

A Practitioner of Religious Science for 12 years and Chaplain Minister for three, Leslie Golden embodies the teachings of Religious Science and uses these tools while incorporating the devotional aspects of compassion and Trust in her daily life and service to others.

Leslie has also studied with several spiritual teachers including: Eastern Meditation Master: Gurumayi Chidvilasananda of the Siddha Lineage, Don Miguel Ruiz of the Toltec Tradition and the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. Traveling to India, Egypt and Israel and Mexico with her spiritual teachers have added a deep sense of devotion and compassion to her spiritual experience.
